LOYOLA-CHICAGO AND WISCONSIN B DOMINATE

MIVA teams sustained their annual command of the NCVF national club championships, with Loyola Chicago (MIVA-M10VC) capturing its first ever Division 1 NCVF collegmiate club national title and Wisconsin B (MIVA-B Team Conference) grabbing the top honor in NCVF’s Division 3.
MIVA advanced three teams to the Division 1 Final Four, with defending 2023 NCVF Division 1 Champion Wisconsin (MIVA-BTMVA) squaring off in the finals against the upstart Ramblers. In its first year with MIVA, and like many previous MIVA national championship teams, the Ramblers took full advantage of fierce season-long league competition in preparing for its national championship run. Loyola earned the Perrelli Cup, the award giving to the Division 1 Championship team, by ousting the Badgers 2-1 in the Gold final that played in front of over 5,000 rambunctious fans at T-Mobile Arena in Kansas City on April 20, 2024.
The Ramblers advanced by dispatching the tournament’s #1 seed Missouri in the semi-final, while Wisconsin outlasted perennial MIVA and national title contender Illinois (MIVA-BTMVA) in the other semi-final. In the Division 1AA Gold Final, the Purdue Boilermakers (MIVA-BTMVA) muscled past Georgia Tech, 2-1.
Like last year, MIVA B teams once again pushed to the top of the podium in NCVF Division 3 by advancing two MIVA league teams to the Gold Final. Powerhouse Wisconsin B blew past Ohio State B, in that Gold final, 2-0.

Topped by Loyola’s Jack Jedick, #25, Division 1 MVP and Wisconsin B’s Jonathan Pulver, #9, Most Outstanding Players in their respective divisions, MIVA lead the nation by having 32 of its league players selected to NCVF divisional All Tournament teams.
MIVA’s continued ascendency at NCVF’s event follows a full season of MIVA play where five conferences covering a 9 state region compete in round robin formats that steadily raise the competitive bar for MIVA teams. It was Ohio State A (MIVA-BTMVA) who earned a top seed at the NCVF event by winning the 2024 MIVA Division 1 Championship over Illinois A (MIVA-BTMVA), with Wisconsin B following suit by capturing MIVA’s 2024 B Team Championship honors over a determined field of club squads.
The 2024 MIVA season was further complimented this year by the addition of several new intercollegiate men’s club programs, bringing the total number of MIVA club teams to 61, the highest ever. Growth in intercollegiate club volleyball reflects the strong grassroots momentum and expanding popularity of boy’s high school volleyball throughout the Midwest. Next season promises to bring even greater participation and levels of excellence to MIVA and beyond.
