MIVA Calls a Timeout for 2021 — Conference Events Cancelled
In response to challenges presented by the pandemic, MIVA is not scheduling indoor competitions (play dates and championships) nor endorsing other indoor intercollegiate club volleyball competitions for the 2021 club season. This action reflects similar actions taken by other club leagues as well as cancellation of the 2021 National Collegiate Volleyball Federation Championships.
MIVA will continue to monitor and work with clubs, NCVF, NCVF Recognized Leagues, schools, referees and other stakeholders with a view towards re-engaging as soon as we can appropriately do so.
The league encourages clubs to stay organized, communicate with its members and school administrators, consider group philanthropic outreach, plan for next season, and as appropriate, stay involved with our sport as best and safely as possible. In support of these efforts, the 2021 MIVA Student Advisory Council has been convened, comprised of exceptional volunteer MIVA student leaders representing MIVA registered clubs.
MIVA extends sincere condolences to those who have suffered loss during this challenging time and offers gratitude to essential workers and those working to overcome pandemic challenges. We join NCVF and other NCVF Recognized League leaders in asking every participant to enthusiastically respect school and community health directives and policies so that we can safely reengage as soon as possible.
MIVA Clubs can look forward to future updates and communications.
